Why Regular Eating Of This FOOD is DANGEROUS for Your HEALTH?

There is a certain type of food that appears to be innocent looking and yet happens to be highly dangerous for both your health and mine too.

In fact, the People who eat the most of this particular food and the most processed of it,  have the highest overall risk of death from all causes, including heart disease and cancer, United States of America researchers reported on Monday the 23rd of March, in the Year 2009.

The National Cancer Institute study is one of the largest to look at this highly controversial and emotive issue of whether eating this particular food is indeed bad for health.

Rashmi Sinha and Collegues looked at the records of more than 500,000 people aged between 50 and 71 who filled out questionaires on their daily diet and other health habits.

 Even when other factors were accounted for – such as eating fresh fruits and vegetables, smoking, exercise, obesity – the heaviest eaters of this particular food in question were more likely to die over the next 10 years than people who ate the least amounts of this food!

The particular innocent looking food in question is this : Red Meat!

 ” Red and Processed Meat intakes were associated with modest increases in total mortality, cancer mortality, and cardiovascular disease mortality, Sinha and Collegues wrote in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

 They divided the volunteers into five groups, called quintiles. Between 1995 and 2005, 47,976 men and 23,276 women died.

The quintile who ate the most red meat had a higher risk for overall death, death from heart disease and cancer than the men and women who ate the least red meat.

 The researchers said thousands of deaths could be prevented if people simply ate less meat!

 “ For overall mortality, 11 percent of deaths in men and 16 percent of deaths in women could be prevented if people decreased their red meat consumption to the level of intake in the first quintile, “ Sinha’s team wrote.

 Many studies have shown that people who eat less meat are healthier in many ways, and Sinha’s team noted that meat contains several cancer causing chemicals, as well as the unhealthiest forms of fat.

 The U.S government now recommends a “ Plant – Based Diet ” that stresses fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

 Barry Popkins, an Expert in Nutrition and Economics at the University of North Carolina, said the study was unusually thorough and careful.

 ” Eating less meat has other benefits,” he said, ” and governments should start promoting this. For instance, farming animals for meat, causes greenhouse gas emissions that warm the atmosphere and uses fresh water in excess, ” he said.

 “ I was pretty surprised when I checked back and went through the data on emissions from animal food and livestock,Popkin said in a telephone interview.

 ” I didn’t expect it to be more than cars, ” he further stated.

 Cancer Experts said the study fits in with what is known from other research.

 ” This large study provides further evidence to support the recommendations by groups such as the World Cancer Research Fund in demonstrating an association between a high consumption of red and processed meats and an increased risk of death from cancer, ” said Ian Oliver, the Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Council Australia.

 However, the Meat Industry denounced the study as flawed.

 And American Meat Institute executive president, James Hodges, said :

 “ Meat products are part of a healthy, balanced diet and studies show they actually provide a sense of satisfaction and fullness that can help with weight control. Proper body weight contributes to good health overall

 However, in contrast to what has been discussed above, let’s see what the Holy Bible has to say about eating meat, and I quote :

 ” But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the King’s meat nor with the wine which he (The King) drank : therefore he requested of the Prince of the Eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the Prince of the Eunuchs.

 And the Prince of the Eunuchs said unto Daniel, ‘ I fear my lord the King, who hath appointed your meat and your drink : for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? Then shall ye make me endanger my head to the King ‘.

 Then Said Daniel to Melzar, whom the Prince of the Eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiel, Mishael, and Azariah, ‘ Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days : and let them give us pulse (Which simply means vegetable food) to eat, and water to drink ‘.

 Then let our countenances (Which simply means Physical Appearance) be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the King’s meat : and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

 So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

 And at the end of ten days, their countenances (that is to say the countenances of, Daniel, Hananiel, Mishael, and Azariah) appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the King’s meat.

 Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and wine that they should drink ; and gave them pulse (Vegetable Food) ” – Daniel 1:8-16 (KJV).

 Therefore, from the above quoted scripture, we can see that it is very clear that regular meat eating is quite dangerous for our overall health in the long run.
